Byron Bay's Horizon of Hope is an original painting by Australian Artist Rachel Rae

Byron Bay’s Horizon of Hope invites the viewer to experience the awe of Byron Bay’s Iconic lookout where the land meets the sea and the sky. This painting captures the undulating hills richly textured patterns and brushstrokes, and the ocean hues seamlessly transitioning as it reaches toward the distant horizon. In this work I explore the profound contrast between the immensity of nature and the seemingly insurmountable challenges we face as individuals. The intricate texture of the cliffs symbolises the complexity and weight of human struggles, mirroring the way our problems can often feel overwhelming and fragmented. Yet, as the gaze shifts toward the tranquil waters and the infinite horizon beyond, we are reminded of our place within the larger tapestry of existence. The calm, expansive sea serves as a powerful metaphor for the boundless possibilities and hope that lie beyond our immediate difficulties. It is in this vast horizon that we find a reassuring perspective—a reminder that despite our challenges, there is always room for hope and renewal.

This original painting by Rachel Rae is painted in acrylic with a protective varnish on a deep stretched canvas, framed in Tasmanian Oak it is ready to hang.
